Yes, I realize all that. As it is the NTRA has to follow the rules of the state and casino. Nobody expects that anyone in that room will be allowed to not wear a mask. We are asking for a rollover or another reasonable solution as outlined by Vic

For me nothing could be further from the truth. I was/am VERY much looking forward to this contest.
It's GREAT fun trying to be named the best. To interact with fellow horseplayers and to enjoy the entire Vegas experience.
It's not whining. It's responsibility to myself, my wife, my friends and the rest of the world I may come into contact with as an asymptomatic carrier.
These concerns aren't just coming out of our asses. I consulted 2 well respected Dr.'s here in Arkansas. Who also happen to be close friends. They said our concerns are legitimate and real.
One said " I wouldn't roll the dice" One said " Vic Don't Do It"
And this was a couple of days ago when I canceled a DREAM WEEKEND.
Two days boogie boarding in SD, Golf at La Costa (with caddies) and two days playing a huge tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Del Mar.
Tina and I have been planning and looking forward to this trip for months.
I felt lower than Whale Shit when I told her Dr. Roper and Dr. Miller advised against going.
This world, through no fault of any of us is totally ****ED up right now. I'm ****ING sick of it.
But where in the hell do you get off calling caring, accomplished people selfish bastards for trying to make responsible, honorable decisions?
You ought to be ashamed of yourself. It's attitudes like yours that's made this mess 1000 times worse.
TRAGIC!!

What an agonizing dilemma for a player of your skills. It's got to be torture.

I'm less worried about the room. A player can walk in and out to put in the picks. And I think I remember at the TI the terminals in the regular race and sports book had those terminals as well.
A bigger concern to me. Is the travel. From Hot Springs we have to take an 8 seater to Dallas with a long layover because of having to recheck bags and go thru security again. Lot's of time in the terminal. All flights these days to either SD or Vegas are overbooked. Even 1st class is pretty tight. Then the rental car shuttles which are always totally jammed. Then the counter as well.
It's all that which is most concerning to me.
I don't see why just until the coast is clear we can't appoint someone to put the picks in for us?
Doesn't seem unfair and would take very little for the Tournament Directors to implement.

The funny thing is, nobody ever said otherwise...but watching Andy go off the rails and accuse me of doing just that was indeed precious.

I feel very strongly I can win. The $Million would be VERY nice.
Perhaps more though is missing the experience.
I enjoy competing against elite players.
I love when they approach me and want to visit about handicapping theory or the latest industry biz or Oaklawn.
Also, Tina and I love Vegas and have many friends there.
Believe me. The LAST thing I want is to opt out.
Thanks for the kind words MOUNTAIN.

Andy, you said something to the effect that people are monitoring these discussions.
Do you feel strongly it's the right people?
The ones we both know can authorize change?
Or do you think we should approach them through more direct channels?

We made our best case and there are people working behind the scenes who support us. Hopefully we'll win but if not it is what it is.

I never went off the rails in the thread you did and you're still off the rails. This is very personal to you for some reason. And you still haven't answered my previous question about whether or not you're an NTRA member and play in any of their tournaments. How about it?

The thread and even the critics provided some glorious entertainment for a lot of Racing execs.

You feel strongly they are the right people? The ones with the authority?
If you think there are stronger options I have some avenues of communication that might open different doors if needed.
I'll trust your judgement.

I'm not positive that we'll be successful but I am positive that our concerns are being taken seriously.
