I put up a
PLATINUM check-list this morning--these are factors that MAY be important...such as TURF BLAST--SPEED BLAST, etc.
If you are considering a horse, I usually sort the top 3 Platinum
Power, and start my handicapping using the check-off items.
EXOTIC BETS! was mainly put together to help make sense of horizontals; pick-3's an 4's. It really is a big help to be able to look at the entire 3 or 4 races at a glance. '' Pick-9 ALL' cards can be used as contenders for win bets, or to structure sequential bets.
The
PONYPICKER and
BEST-5 are two programs that don't require much handicapping.
Find one or two methods that work at the track you play..stick with it and keep a minimum bet. 3-1, 4-1, 6-1, etc. Don't waste money on the 6/5 shots--and keep records, and read this site for which tracks might be hot today & this week...and any other methods and info.
Any top Platinum power that isn't a MAIDEN--and is 10-1+, is usually a bet
My personal favorites when trolling for longshots is
NEW *B*O*S*S ,
1-2-3 method and
Best-3 @ 5-1 ML or better.
I always use 5-1 because I'm guessing the ML maker couldn't decide between 4-1 or 6-1
(I know that sounds silly--but we all have our quirks)
*BTW....the
1-2-3 method on Best-Five and PonyPicker...are the
same method. It worked so well on PP--I put it on BOSS for the winners, and to solidify the consensus.
New BOSS is not part of the consensus due to its being primarily a "price" method.
I get questions like "What's your ROI?"
Sorry, but I have yet to find a mechanical method that is stand-alone profitable. I'm not saying one or two don't exist...but if you had one--why on earth would you sell it? At all odds--the best I can offer is the "EASY WINNER" --at certain tracks it is just under $1.00 ROI.
Interested web-site surfers that ask the ROI question - Whatever their ROI is now..can only improve with proper tools and a willing to study and learn.
Just pushing buttons and betting the output....is not the way to beat this game long term. If you're are recreational player---by all means, push some buttons and have some fun.
I forget sometimes, that not everyone lives and dies with horse racing---some people just want to enjoy a day at the races.
I've been putting Platinum through it's paces for 1 year now---and it's never crossed my mind to give up.
