FF thought that the jockey wanted him to do that. Why Jose kept whipping him with his right hand when FF was right next to Yaupon and was going to pass him any way.

The surprising thing to me was that the rail horse maintained its composure throughout the assault, and won the race!

Ironically, he was the victim of a biting incident years back. I guess he learned something from that incident and this was some kind of pay back.
Sadly is that from my vantage point at the track I thought he was going to win if he didn’t do that, but perhaps I didn’t have the best angle.
