"Monmouth makes a lot of sense for us," Iavarone said. "We really like that the people took to Big Brown. I like the turf course better. It's less money, but we've had good karma there. It's the racetrack that makes the most sense for us. We're definitely more likely to run at Monmouth." …………………..
Plus, it's a steroid-friendly jurisdiction, unlike PA.

I like this one better

"This is only about protecting Big Brown," Iavarone said. "Money is great, but that is not what this is all about. We want to get the easiest race so he can fire his best shot in the Breeders' Cup.

I suppose if BB wins, you guys will say they pumped him up...if he looses, you'll say he isn't the horse everyone 'thinks' he is...
Jersey is close to home, the folks there gave him a rousing welcome, the purse is very good, and nothing wrong with Ivarone saying they want a fairly easy spot for him...the goal is the Classic, and this is a good way to get BB there.
I hope he kicks ass on the grass!!!

The field may be a small one thats why I would send out one of my turf only horses to see what piece of that 500k pie I could take down. Imagine if it rains! Seems one drop of rain or a "broken" pipe or bad timer on the sprinklers has caused havoc on this recently rebuilt turf course and you end up with 4 horses going to the gate. Question is where did all the money really go to rebuild this track?

I believe California is not a steriod friendly state -- so BB should be "clean" for the Breeder's Cup...

The field should be small, given that the competing Philly Park race up the highway is scheduled for the same day.
It's no surprise that neither of these stakes are graded. I'd be curious as to how many horses who've entered the BC Classic over the years have run in a non-graded stakes in their final outing or two before the BC.

Frankel might enter the BB turf coronation... I figure 500K would get somebody's attention.

I don't get that...a $500,000 purse and no grade?
