This is bad if true, who's going to bet at 15 when 5 pct is available at BF?

Just think if you were the one who posted the link it would be the first time you would have been right in a very long time.
It is exasperating....

exchange wagering will begin soon (March 2016)

http://blog.northjersey.com/meadowla...ng/#more-12486

of course a few questions remain unanswered,

1. commission
2. discount rate
3. US in-play tracks (right now its only done at Woodbine)--they need more to hop on board.

Allan

PS--Thanks to all for their sage cut and paste advice, :-)

Well according to the schedule you have lost the wager we made quite some time ago.

I'll give you some time to save up for lunch at the Meadowlands on derby day. If not ladies day is fine with me too.

If the take is 15% it's almost a waste of time because there will also be a small spread between the bid and the ask.

At that point the major (but limited) use of the exchange will be to book bets in races where you have a very negative opinion on a short priced horse but no good ideas for how to structure a bet against him.

if It is 15%, they will have to provide a better discount (rebate) for larger bettors.

They offer discount rates to all the big bettors on the UK.

You came very close I'll give you credit for that. I can't find the other bet yet give me time it was over four years ago.

The bet is as follows:

1. Betfair will be selected as the official exchange licensee of New Jersey

2. New Jersey state residents will have access to betfair international liquidity on their exchange.

if either or both of these conditions are NOT met. You are the winner of the bet.

If both these conditions are met. Then I am the winner of the bet.

They can bet into our exchange but we can't bet into theirs which seems unfair even though I would lose the bet.

http://www.drf.com/news/betfair-gain...ing-license-us

Under current rules in New Jersey, only New Jersey residents would be able to open accounts on the platform, though residents of the United Kingdom would be allowed to bet against those New Jersey customers.

Of course Betfair is running this on a technicality a person I have questioned time and time again really holds it. I'm sure there will be a defense that he spent money out of his own pocket (of course not even 1/10 of 1% proof) and deserved to be given such a lucrative deal.

If this guy would have bought the track it would be a different story. But as of now he has a better deal than Gural who at least put up some of his money where there is a trail to follow.
