Whenever you watch a movie where there is someone with great power (see Don Corleone) who wants a rival dead, do they grab a gun and do it themselves? No, they have someone else do the deed. They don't get their hands dirty. When you're the president, you send one of the sycophants to do the dirty work. No surprise in the least that Trump appears not involved. He's not that dumb (I think).
