The hearings were over. Pay attention.
Poppy Bush re-opened the closed background investigation by asking the FBI to re open it.
All confirmation hearings in the Senate are "employment interviews" designed to advise and consent Especially for the lifetime appointment to the Supreme court. And yes in that process information needs to be verified.
Advice and consent is an English phrase frequently used in enacting formulae of bills and in other legal or constitutional contexts. It may describe two situations, either where a weak executive branch of a government enacts something previously approved of by the legislative branch or where the legislative branch concurs and approves something previously enacted by a strong executive branch.

As a senator more than two decades ago, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. argued that President George Bush should delay filling a Supreme Court vacancy, should one arise, until the presidential election was over, and that it was “essential” that the Senate refuse to confirm a nominee to the court until then.

Who is Christina Blasey-Ford? Really? Why scrub your past before you go public with such an explosive story? What has she to hide.

I think they have found it and sitting on it just like Dianne Feinstein did in an effort to blow her up politically, we will soon see.

That was different then. Times have changed since the dimocrats have turned into even bigger jackasses than before.
Most women that have been sexually assaulted know all the details, like it was going in slow motion - when, where, what they looked like. Since Ford can not seem to remember any of this, she is probably either lying or was passed out drunk so many times in high school, the places and faces are just a big blur.
There is a reason only a quarter of the women in the country take much credence in Ford's allegations.

Good question! Does she even exist? Has anyone seen her, save for an old picture?
And what I find really curious is that the lamestream doesn't seem to have any interest in tracking her down and finding her and getting the huge scoop -- unless of course she's really in hiding --in some safe space to treat her 36 year-old trauma.

The Biden Rule

The full Biden rule
SEN. JOE BIDEN (D-DE), Then-Judiciary Committee Chairman: “…it is my view that if a Supreme Court Justice resigns tomorrow, or within the next several weeks, or resigns at the end of the summer, President Bush should consider following the practice of a majority of his predecessors and not - and not - name a nominee until after the November election is completed.” (Sen. Biden, Congressional Record, S.16316-7, 6/25/1992)Mitch the bitch McConnell did much more than that. He delayed tghe Garland confirmation for 288 days.
Btw, Biden took to the floor in a speech addressing the Senate president to urge delay if a vacancy did appear. But he didn't argue for a delay until the next president began his term, as McConnell did. He said the nomination process should be put off until after the election, which was on Nov. 3, 1992.
Explain how that is the equivalent

That's like saying kill a mosquito with as bozooka.
He did not mean wait almost a year until a new president took office.
He said, follow the practice of a majority of his predecessors. None of his predecessors waited as long as Mitch the bitch did
None.

There is a problem here-- but first, what are you talking about?
Please expand upon the difference between right and wrong.
Take a stand, that's what Judges do.
Judges do not always follow the letter of the law and that's the problem.
It's their "job" to uphold the rule of law.

In other words interpret the law allegorically. What else is new? And how else can anything have a thousand meanings?

Grassley caves again. The hearing is now scheduled for Thursday.
In his 6th or 7th compromise offer, Grassley wanted to set the hearing this Wednesday. Ford's attorney charged that a Wednesday hearing was “fundamentally inconsistent with the committee’s promise of a fair, impartial investigation into her allegations.” But apparently Thursday does meet those criteria.
What a difference a day makes.
To give Ford the benefit of the doubt, it is possible that since she doesn't like to fly in airplanes, she may have needed the extra day to make the flight on her broom stick.
