If the weather is good, there is no reason why it wouldn't be at least 100 grand.

What could you possibly be basing this opinion on? Just look at the last four TC attempts:

War Emblem, 2002: 103,222
Funny Cide, 2003: 101,864
Smarty Jones, 2004: 120,319
Big Brown, 2008: 94,476

Not sure what your definition of "WAY, WAY, WAY" is, but looking at those numbers, I'm guessing it shouldn't be under 90k if I were you....

Right, the horse lacks charisma

There was a record crowd for both the Derby and Preakness this year. Given a nice day, the crowd will be huge at Belmont.

I'll be there and I'm hoping for six figures. But, he's a west coast horse with west coast connections. Plus, he's a grinder. Probably not sexy enough for the New York media machine to get behind. I hope I'm wrong, though.

He's a west coast horse....... will that matter?

You could drive 3 hours to see your local horse try the Triple Crown when Smarty Ran?

The hype re the jock (not undeserved) will make up for any lack of charisma for the horse. If it is a nice day, well over 100,000 will attend!

"West Coast Horse".... so it's not the horse's fault but that of the snobby east coasters who would nt want to see him, right?

ps: for the record, I am in pennsylvania.
