Matt Winn at CD - puzzler

This "not quite ready for prime time" group of 3yr olds is very well matched.

Having a hard time finding a standout or throwout among the bunch. I have most of this field ranked within a few points of each other on speed figs. The ML chalk is at 4-1.
So, how do you go about separating a group so closely matched...
pace/race shape?
class?
company lines?
form cycle analysis?
trainer angles?

All but two runners have a win at today's distance over fast dirt, but only four have a Stks win, and only one of them a GrStks win...in fact, Uncaptured has two GrStks wins, both at CD.
But I've been swindled by him before, most notably in the Blue Grass...what happened that day? A good performance would have put him in the Derby.
He looks like a serious threat early, but I think I will try to get him late.

Tough race - thoughts?

at first glance Code West , Bellarmine, and Carve look like decent horses.
Sunbean is dangerous to improve.

I would guess Code West will be closer to 5/2 at post.

I think Abstraction may be a special horse and he crushes these.

A puzzler, indeed. I thought Code West was good enough for a pool 1 Derby future bet, but he seemed to have trouble getting over the "hump" to be a top tier horse. This spot looks good for him, and he'll be taking money, but not much of mine.

I'll go with a slow learning, late blooming horse who looks primed to take a step forward in Looking Cool. I'd be inclined to take Carve, but those outside posts at CD at this distance are no bargain. Will probably use the Recaptured, Code West, and Abstraction in exacta saves with the uno dog.

Like Hooflesswonder, I think I will go with the Looking Cool.
Shown improvement each form cycle and his last two put him in the mix tonight. Freshened with nice string of works at CD.
Needs a little pace help but I think the will set decent splits. Expect Rosie to keep Code West close to Uncaptured and not let him get away. Bellarmine should be off the pace today with Leparoux back up.

Using mainly with Code West, Abstraction, Bellarmine and Sunbean (although this guy needs to prove himself outside of La state breds)...he has the numbers, was blocked badly in the lane at FG then had the short run at Kee and no time to get in gear...no excuses today.

Ex:
2-7 w 1
1 w 2-5-7-10
Tri:
2-7 w 2-5-7-10 w 1
Win:
1-7 (if I can get 5-1 or better)

good luck

Matt Winn at CD - puzzler

I'm with precocity on the , and a exacta box. Doesn't this horse have a new trainer these days?

Ruler Of Love is a scratch, leaving Rosie and Code West to do the early work with Uncaptured
