I say we cap a hard race today. Why not R8 at BEL for $40K claimers with $70K in the kitty? Toughest race on the card.
Chuck Willis: Front running type that has to be respected. Stretched out to 7.5F last out. 2nd race in '23 and has 6 EX finishes in 12 starts on the turf. Serious contender, but has never ran at Belmont.
Thinkaboutit: 0 for 5 on turf. Speed figures don't match well with most others in here. Gonna have to let this one beat me.
Turn of Events: Recency and form isn't good. However, is 4 for 10 at BEL and a solid turf racing record. Good recent works and has changed barns several times lately. Getting serious class relief which was needed. Interesting. A definite tote board watch on this one.
Ballydooley: An all or nothing sort that just won last out at this very track. Hasn't fared well at this level or above. Numbers fit, but gonna have to kick.
Bring Me a Check: In form per say, and gets changed around from barn to barn. Gets back to what I believe is his best surface since Canterbury in September. Should get a great price for a horse that is 7 for 12 ITM on turf. Wouldn't be a shocker on top.
Soulmate: Hard-knocking horse that doesn't win much. However, getting some serious class relief. If he can repeat the 6/9/22 performance on this track again, he is is a major contender. 2nd outing in '23. Serious odds booster at the very least in exotics.
Standup: Figures make no sense. 0 for 9 in '23. Hard pass.
Original: Won last out at Tampa in lesser company. Solid BEL record and can win. Seems to be more speed than he can handle in here though.
High Tide: 1st race in 2023 after a voided claim at Saratoga in July of last year. Works are good coming in, but questions abound about soundness for this one off the long break.
Scilly Cay: First ever race on turf as a 6YO. Irad gets on board though, and should be coming late. A very very interesting entry.
