Art Sherman retires

he just trained his last racehorse at age 84. always a gentleman and won with some big horses in his 60-year career.

I'm so glad that he was blessed with California Chrome...one of God's perfections. Awesome man, awesome horse!

to you, Mr. Sherman, for a long and happy retirement.

He was involved with Swaps, and then all the way through to California Chrome. That's 60 years. Pretty nice career.

Easily the two best CB's ever,and it's not even close.
Sherman as a kid exercising one.......and training the other in his golden years.

What an awesome career and a super class guy to boot!! I wish him nothing but the very best in his retirement. CA Chrome is my favorite horse and I can think of no one better to have cared for and train him than Mr. Art Sherman.

Yup.
Retired 19 for 25.
Wasn't favored in his first 8 races.
He set five world records.......often geared down at the wire.
Notoriously bad feet to boot.
