Also, what I didn't know was that Martin was killed while serving his third school suspension within a year. (It's no wonder the media posted pics of an angelic looking 12-yo when this story broke.) The more I read, the more I'm seeing this was a very troubled kid -- a product of another broken home. One of the first things Crump did when retained by the Martins was to seal the boy's school and criminal records. Interesting that the attorney would want to conceal as much of the background of Martin as possible -- no doubt so that they could advance their own peculiar "angelic looking, little boy" narrative.
And finally, why would anyone want someone arrested and yet not convicted?
This is more than a strange attitude for grieving mother to take over the wrongful death of her son.

This case stinks. It reeks. I agree with the writer's conclusion: The justice everyone is seeking is not ultimately criminal (because there is no credible case) but monetary justice. The parents are seeking to gain from their son's death, even though they know their son was probably killed in an act of self-defense.
