Or Nest has a good shot to win this race as any of these. This is not a world-class field.

Irad doesn't have a record of allowing other entries to steal a race. Perhaps Repole is concerned, but my opinion is that it isn't well founded if they are.

It seems to me that Nest, Creative Minister, and Barber Road are the best values on the board.

I'm going with WTP. I'll use Mo underneath. Irad is en fuego right now. Then it's just a matter of how cute I get playing the tri or super. Need one of the longer odds horses to hit the board in order to get a modest pay. I can make a decent case for the Skippy. Seems like the grinding type that could hit the show pool if the closers fail to close (which seems to happen more often than not in this feature).

Win bet on the

A boring / Exacta box, perhaps with an added straight wager with the on top.

Still figuring out a tri and super play.

She won't be a rabbit, but she'll press/tackle WTP with about a half mile to go, if he doesn't set a rapid pace.

I like Mo better, but Nest is also a legit horse.

Concur!!!! I think Secret Oath is something special and this girl did not embarrass herself in the Oaks. Mix that with her breeding a she is my key on top.

The only bet I could make would be Nest, but I need at least the line odds of 8-1. I am afraid that she might get overbet.

She will probably end up being the wiseguy horse along with the added "Women's Bet".

I know it’s not the greatest field but I really like this Belmont. I think it’s wide open. Barber roads my key

what a smart rider Irad is, New York has some great guys headed by Irad and Luis Saez now, Jose Ortiz is solid as well. the other guys are good too!

For those of you who believe We The People may be loose and attempt a wire-to-wire win, this could be interesting; 2012 Brooklyn Handicap ( we run the Brooklyn every year at the same 12f 1,1/2M distance as the Belmont, usually Friday or same card as Belmont Stakes ).

This time Ramon Dominguez on the loose speed favorite. One of his pace rivals missed the break, so was 'loose' even in a bigger field. Had to dig for these ( See Da'Tara in Big Browns no-show attempt, or AP and Justify win as generational talents in Bel S. wire fashion ).

- Most interesting to me is the runners up. The riders of El Daafer ?6 and Arthurs Tale #1 have to watch it...
They move up into position early and around the 1M point.
Those runners able to position into contention were the ones who could stay bunched up and positions barely changed in the Stretch Run...

MORE ABOUT RUNNERS UP than Winner
illustrative example

Arthurs Tale kinda reminds me of a Creative Minister ( or a Skippylongstocking, Golden Glider if you had 3 coffees... a pace presence saving ground stalkign the rail.... ) near the pace conservative 1-paced grinder

El Daafer can be Mo, Nest, (or a Rich Strike, Rosario/Barber capable of a closing middle-move use your imagination ) .
same idea 4th/3rd Photo guy belated rally (mo, rich, barber...)

example "Nest coming up outside, but We The People still has something left! Creative Minister along the rail, but the rest are far back! WTP much the best! Nest in 2nd, PHOTO FOR THIRD Creative Minister or Mo Donegal for third" etc... choose your own adventure

I think she has a chance, just not as good a chance as Mo Donegal.

The real money in this game is in making stallions. A Belmont win would really polish Mo Donegal's already nice resume. A win here helps him a lot more than it helps Nest. I would guess Repole is aware of that. I'm sure Pletcher and the Ortiz brothers are too.

So I'm gonna say that if nobody else presses We The People, Jose will.

A few people I know like Barber Road. What am I missing? I thought he got pretty good setups in both his last 2 races.

Yea Classhandicapper.

Negative =
Slower than these.
Not a pace player.
Dream trips.
He's a likeable, fun kind of horse...

on the bright side, = he has run solid in his dream trips (TFUS has his 6f-1m KYD fraction Fastest of the entire field)

wildcard of Rosario known for trying to pull a middle move or rail move.

that's all i got

For me it’s

Tapit line
Fast final fractions in derby
Derby beyer suggests he can win Belmont
Obviously doesn’t have a ton of speed, but has more speed than people think tbh especially compared to who he’s running against here. Blinkers coming off.

Has a really solid foundation.

I think he wants every part of classic distances. I think he can be within 3-4 lengths early and he’ll keep going
