For those that are interested in the special betting menu.
https://cms.belmontstakes.com/upload...ial-Wagers.pdf
Who ever designed this pdf did a great job.. it's easy to read, has all the base amounts, and takeout % in full view and not hidden.
It makes it so much easier to bet
I'm feeling good....I hope the rain coming is tame and everything stays on the lawn.

weak and forgettable field imo. any decent horse with the slightest amount of tactical speed would have a chance to htb if they entered. instead we have this hot mess of a field.
you have to like wtb. even being the fav. early voting could have been favorite as well in the preak. he should have been much lower.
zero speed in the race and you honestly don't know who will be behind him stalking, or who will be fighting for 6/7/8th.
i made a comment on rich strike after he won the kd. the bloody horse lost ground in the stretch in what seems like everyone of his races leading up to the kd. even this horse has a chance in this lame field

skippy didn't run that poorly in the preak. i liked him as a plausible long shot but the rich strike effect reared it's ugly head and the fight was on for every 2 dollar better to be down every long shot.
what the program doesn't show is that the horse left, raced wide and somehow managed to be boxed turning for home. i'm happy they switched jox.
can he beat wtb.,,who knows, but it might get an up close decent trip. he should get better odds this time as well in an even weaker field.

This race, for only having eight horses, is a tough field to handicap. I personally believe that a show bet on Rich Strike is potentially most likely to cash, but he's not much value and I can understand taking a stand against him.
Matter of fact, it seems the approach here will be to take a stand, key just a limited number of combos, and hope for the best. Like the Preakness, this race for me is now a post parade decision, and not one for a large advanced wager.
Good luck, everybody.

He's one of those conundrum horses for me.
I played him last time. I thought he was very impressive. So I am looking at a horse I like, that I think is improving, with good speed, that figures to control the pace.
On the flip side it's hard to tell how much of that Peter Pan effort was improvement and how much was being loose on the sealed off track.
For me, it's hard to take a short price on a horse I have any questions about, but it's not like I want to toss a horse that I was already high on coming off a big effort that figures to get a good setup.

Pencil to paper, I took Mo Donegal. We The People is picking up 8 pounds and Mo won't be forced 10 wide Saturday.

Yeah, worst is 8-wide this time.
I'm going with Nest. She's back home and she will not pick up any weight. She is -5 lbs vs the rest of the field.

I agree with a lot of you. It’s not exactly a star studded field at all. So, it comes down to the odds as always vs what I think their chances are. The board seems to be close but if the odds are higher on Mo , I’ll probably back him agreeing with Bustin Stones. He will be somewhat questionable if the pace is out of hand but he won’t be wide and he’s back in NY . Even though he lost the derby, a race that he probably should of finished closer up. Agree , he looks like the most probable winner if it’s not a merry go round…… which , there’s a chance could happen. But I have my doubts about that favorite and his level until he wins a race like this.
