Who is THIS guy?
T Robertson Craig W ( 47- 21-0.45)
Has a horse, first off the claim in the first at Hollywood. Another 40% + trainer I've never heard of, gotta love this sport these days!

He's never done much at HOL (1/6, won with a low odds horse). Does hit for a 29% win rate first off the claim, doesn't deal with off tracks well. Wins races at a 14.29% clip with odds > 10, 29.55% with odds in the "medium" range (a very good stat there), and 40.5% with low priced (<2) horses. Never hooked up with this jockey before.

Make that 2/7 - with the longshot angle coming in.... What was with the 6 bolting there? Setting up PVal on the 2/5 speed ball? Just a thought....

Sometime you don't ask why, just go with it. I doubt he had come into Hollywood with his latest home brew before.
Code:
1 $27.80 $12.20 $20.00
Does anyone honestly believe this is just a case of good horsemanship? Not that my bank account really cares!

I think this guy has found the "juice". He was nothing more than an average trainer in the past, unless I'm getting him mixed up with someone else.

Check into Robertsons record at Los Alamitos in those 4 1/2 furlong races. Most of those above great stats have been recorded at that venue.

But, 45% is 45%, they don't give money away anywhere. Was this guy 45% last year, or the year before? I would tend to doubt it.
Who knows if I'm right, but when I see those kinds of numbers I start thinking "magic potion?"
By the way, this guy took a lot of early money.

Yes, indeed. 43% winner at the "super sprint" distance category, clicked 4/7 times with "high odds" too, and 4/6 "first off the claim".

Actually been a SoCal horse in 8 of his 9 career starts, was claimed from a SA race last out.

Horse was claimed from SA last start, had one race at GG.
Big thing (to me) was that these 10K claiming beasts ran the half in 44.26. I know its SoCal racing, but that's fast. Chart says the 6 didn't bolt, but pulled up lame. Here's the thing - the 6 is a stone cold closer (S0, and a sprinter in a sprint race), typically running the 1/2 in 45-46. He was ahead of the 3 (ridden by PVal), who typically runs the 1/2 in 44 and change (consistend E2's over 100).
(of course, the 6 was just claimed by Gill, so the fact that they put the pedal to the metal early with this horse isn't a big surprise)

This is why I posted, the time to get on these guys is when they are new to the scene. Last year, it was Mullins winning at big numbers. Now he is always bet down.
I'm a big figure guy, but sometimes you just have to ignore them as a factor in a race!
