Kudos to the new school superintendent who had the brass to overrule the unanimous decision by a school district committee who wanted this pornographic trash in school libraries for kids to easily access. I have little doubt some depraved liberal organization will challenge this superintendent's decision in court.

There isn’t a chance in hell any of that gibberish will stand up in court. The surety bond is to protect people from financial loss, not because they don’t like some action an official takes. If we followed patriots4truth any person could stop the implementation of any policy they didn’t like. Regardless of whether the majority favored that policy.

I just read The Bluest Eye. There is literally no pornography in that book. There are a few descriptions of sex, of rape and even incest, but those are brief and use no profanity. And no descriptive words. They are certainly not titillating. As for many scenes intimately describing sex with children, there are two. One is the scene where Pecola is raped by her father. A terrible thing but not described in any great detail. In fact if you weren’t paying attention you could miss it. The only other references to pedophilia was the young girls-I believe they were early adolescents-warning each other to avoid being alone with a schetchy character. And a letter written by that character in which he talks about some things he has done-again giving few details.
I won’t, but I could give some examples of what pornography is. It is nothing like what is in this book.
Also, I thought the big deal was that these books were available to children. That they were in elementary school libraries. They are not. They are all in High School libraries. High School students need to know about these subjects. It’s not grooming; it’s preparing them to protect themselves.

I grew up in the 50’s-60’s. There were numerous books you couldn’t find in the local library. I don’t think there were specific laws. Just whether it offended the librarian’s sense of decency.
Somehow I survived this attack on my freedoms ;-)
These kids will too.
