i think they should be charging more especially since there is no longer a separate clubhouse admission. the place is great on any afternoon and there is always some type of entertainment on the grounds.

Does it cost anything to get into the Post Bar?
I spend most of my time in the grandstand anyway, but I guess the elites will keep their boxes and/or rent the Paddock Sweet if they want to get away from the crowds a little.

I buy the pass every year . Been doing so before it was even advertised. On the old school ones I was number 48 for years. No picture. Recently I’ve been buying the clubhouse pass it’s been like 30 dollars more give or take . I think this is not such a great idea for several reasons . The people sitting in the picnic area are not very interested on going inside unless it rains . The Clubhouse area is tiny . The thing resembles an antique, that’s the “glory “ of the thing. I can see that becoming a sardine can on certain big days and inclement weather days . There will be casual, family folk bitching about the three bucks ……. No doubt. This idea has pros and cons but I can already hear the complaints coming when people find out. The way Saratoga works and the attendance it attracts , this is not really a solid plan IMO. They have plenty of problems to fix as it is . Why tinker with record breaking numbers ? For 3 bucks ?

Like burnsy we buy a clubhouse pass. Was a bargain, especially when the cost of Travers admission is included. We sit under the stands near where the horses enter the horse path area, but I go up to the clubhouse to watch the turf races. I'm not a big fan of this idea, but believe most people are too lazy to wander far from where they sit, I don't think it will crowd the clubhouse area.

In my experience raising prices helps price-out the riff raff.
Not sure of the desire in this decision

I like it. I'm more familiar with other tracks, to be honest, but I assume it might reduce labor costs a bit by not having to man internal cross-over access checkpoints.
I assume it might be a prelude to creating other individual premium ticketing options within the grounds overall.

Also, hurts the spinners in the wallet on give-away days.

High priced things tend to be good things. Del Mar charges similar.

I can accept the increase with the Clubhouse admission included. My only point is when will the next increase take place??? NYRA has been very good in its policy of raising admission fees on a very limited basis over the years.

I think this is a terrible idea.
Classy ladies dressed to the nines do not want to mix with tee shirt “stuppers”.
Call it what you want, this is Saratoga.
Increase clubhouse fee and reduce grandstand fee.

You've got Saratoga completely backwards.

Burnsy said it's tiny. It's so tiny it's actually nothing. The ground floor has no apron because it's in used as a restaurant (the porch). The clubhouse interior ground floor is small , 10,000 SQ feet would be my guess. The 2nd floor is all assigned ticketed seats, and the 3rd floor is the Turf club terrace high-end $1000 a table restaurant.
For rainy days it's shelter. The clubhouse is nothing added. imho.
The current price is $7.00 so wtf the complaining.
To "buy in advance" is to buy tickets on your phone. You can do that onsite!.

There is a clubhouse apron. It's not substantial, but there is one.
