Hmmm...perhaps you are feeling a bit reflective, sad, and/or sentimental Mike? Well, I'm not dead yet!

Racing won't be "over" any time soon. People have been racing horses since time immemorial. And will continue to do so, all over the world, in numerous racing jurisdictions, including N.A.
There will still be reputable tracks to play in N.A. Probably 10-12 top ones and then maybe similar amount of lesser/smaller tracks, and then a very few of those "country fair" type tracks (because locals, some kinda charm, throwback and tradition and nobody should have to fly or drive 500+ miles to see a live horse race)...........and then you have all the foreign tracks like japan, hong kong, UK, etc. to play.
I would not be worrying, maybe you are having a crying-in-my-beer kinda day?
Some tracks are just sorry-ass and below-board and the feds should go in and close them down due to so many abuses....some of those and their "people" (operators who could care less about jockey or horse safety; tracks where the meat truck guys are there every single day because they know trainers will "have something for them", and/or tracks w/seriously crumbling infrastructure i.e. dumps...
Tracks like that being shuttered would not hurt racing and certainly would only improve racing's reputation.

Can you name any of those tracks, or do you just know that they're out there?

My point is not on racing ....
Its all this we have lived with for decades......
As we seen with Raybo ( Alldata)....and now possibly with WhoBet (BrisDat)
When someone is gone , does their Legacy goes with them....
Will Pace Advantage continue after Mike ?
Will we have software after the developers move on ?
Will their be figures after CJ?
Is someone gonna replace Tom and his wit ?
What I wanna know is what are you guys doing for that time when it comes?

There will always be those who lead and those who follow in many disciplines.
In horse racing it’s a bit different. No matter what the “leaders” might say, the majority of those who follow have the “Do it my way” syndrome.
So I wouldn’t worry too much the only permanent thing in life: It’s called CHANGE.

I'm feeling a lot like the guy who got whacked in the head at the end of the Monty Python clip. With a few exceptions around here.
