Those are steeplechase races, which is why they have steeplechase race conditions. They have one or two days a year that they run a couple jump races. They've been having these jump race days for many years now---you probably just didn't notice.

I was told the starting gate and jump fences were at Monmouth Park.

All I know is that the Steeplechase people couldn't get anyone to ship them to Parx.

I know there's a lot of loose ends here but that's all I heard. I'll post if I hear anything more.

I recall days when similar races have been run at Suffolk - without a starting gate.

I also recall thinking some of the riders were (I'm being kind here) -- a bit unprepared when it came to getting a decent start.

I know. I am trying to get the full story, with little luck.

I do know that the entire Steeplechase racing circuit is run by just 2-3 people in Fair Hill, Maryland. Hard to believe but it is possible that there literally was no one to van the fences, etc., to Parx.

The NSA.

The 2 races were $25K 1 1/2 m flat races for Hurdlers , fences are not needed.

Jumpers do not use a starting gate.

Not a moderator, but that message is from your browser that apparently interprets a site that begins with "http:" rather than "https:" as a security risk since the cleartext interactions can be captured by certain software tools monitoring transactions on your LAN. Most sites are now using https. Have a peek at:
https://whynohttps.com/

While they say it is "free" there are costs involved in implementing this which need to be weighed against the apparent risk.

There is really no reason to go https on PaceAdvantage since no financial transactions ever take place directly on PaceAdvantage.com and no personal information other than your user name and password is ever transmitted back and forth on any sort of regular basis. And since your user name and password should be unique on here from any other site you may belong to (your bank, your brokerage, etc), there should be zero risk of anything "bad" happening to you.
