I will say right away that I do not know Texas, that being said I thought most of the border land is private property. Perhaps generations of family's on the same land who are unlikely to want rednecks or Mexicans on their land. This mess has an owner and his name is Biden.

they did not get many government handouts

While Texas was shut down a majority of popular locally owned Mexican restaurants all stayed open. They refused to submit.

I drove by several that were packed for weeks on end while my restaurant was shut down. They had huge weekends.

I actually spoke to one owner who told me that they don’t recognize the government authorities and dared them to try and close them. Some of them are never inspected either (another story all together)

I spoke with the county health director who told me that he had absolutely no staff to enforce the lock downs and his county administrators chose to not stir the pot.

So they carried on like there was no problem all year long.

It’s their opine that Texas belongs to Mexico.

If you wanna hear the story on why it’s so hard for someone like me to compete.......with the foreign restaurants we can cover that later.

Btw, I am told that the Mexican mafia runs a few of these places near me. I have not confirmed that yet......but if I get completely back on my feet........I have a plan to find out. By competing with them.
