It's like a tale from medieval times, young Princess forced to marry a foreign King, who turns out to be a tyrant,
runs away to the forest. He's probably going to send Orc's after her.
I hope she finds her 'Siegfied' in the Black Forest and maybe protection with the Valkyrie's.

I can (try to ) contribute to talk of ownership or the horses.
I don't know enough about this stuff(in this thread) to have an opinion to contribute.

It actually isn't that "recent". All that news came out quite a while back I saw the BBC documentary. Must've been at least back in the early 2000s but don't remember.
Mostly you will only see robotic riders *now*.....I believe they were introduced around 2004, but I'm sure there are many pockets of regions that still engage children .
But yes, it is a disgrace that children are trafficked, both there and in the U.S., for all sorts of "uses". We should all fight against these things.

Hey, if the U.S. auctions and breeders want to do w/out his money, great. He singlehandedly puts quite a bit of money into buying our yearlings, etc.
I suspect some of them might be eating beans n' rice for a while though. Also okay with me. Other owners can be relied upon to take up the slack, right?
Respect is a multi plane thing. You can respect a person in one area of their life and not another. If you trace his family's background, it's pretty obvious that they have many centuries of experience w/horses, breeding, etc. . Like the Mongolian people, they are rather known for it, too.
I don't have to agree with their personal customs in order to *recognize* them and respect them for what they do know.

One value i hold to is that there are some "Universal Values" that should be adhered to no matter the culture or religion etc.
For years the left has tried to force different cultures and morals down our throat. This removes our countries own values and slowly but surely erases them.
Sorry, kidnap, mutilation and many other things that come from other cultures etc should fall under "unamerican" no matter who practices them

You can abuse women there, but if you use a whip to many times in a horse race they fine the jockey $260,000.00.

It's a matter of perceived value.
