Terrible news from Aurora, CO
Heard last night about a shooting inside a movie theater during the premier screening of the new Batman movie. Early reports have more than a dozen killed and 50 injured. Suspect in custody with no other details.
God help us.

I wonder if there is an "Abdul" or "Mohammed" in there somewhere ?

About 45 minutes ago, I heard his name on the news. I don't remember it now, but it was a "typical" name -- eg, Mike Jones -- IIRC.

People, count your blessings, not only when you wake up, but never forget how lucky you are to be able to go to bed. You really just never know. This makes me ill. Could have been anyone we know any place and any time. I think of the number of times my own kids went to midninght viewings of a movie. Sick about this......

Very sad news.Geeze you cant even go to the movies anymore.Thats why I stay home. Too many kooks out there.My heart goes out to all involved in this terrible tragedy.

So, I'm to assume you would have been SHOCKED if he was of middle eastern descent.
On a side note, something weird going on with his mother. She called the police when she heard of this and said she thought it might be her son.

Shootings like this are usually the work of a lone disturbed person.
This does not have the markings of an Islamic terrorist operation.
Some of these knee jerk reactions are really sad.
Terrible situation...very difficult to stop a single nutjob from harming a lot of people if he chooses.
Yeah yeah yeah...aren't some of you hoping this guy is an Obama supporter?

The only thing i am assuming is that some folks 'round here will be preoccupied with this fellow's political affiliation.
They've already guessed at his name, and therefore his religious affiliation.
My point is that he's a disturbed and sick man, period.
