I would have guessed he was a little older. Hadn't seen him in anything the last 15 or so years.

The amazing thing about the Jeffersons was Sherman Hemsley was 21 years younger than TV wife Isabel Sanford, but you'd never know it looking at them on TV.

I think Marla Gibbs is the only one from the cast still alive.

Sherman Still On Ice

http://wonderwall.msn.com/tv/will-di...-1702234.story

Sherman Hemsley is apparently still chillin' in a mortuary in El Paso awaiting burial as the result of a dispute over his will. Reminds me of Ted Williams. (At least Sherman hasn't been dismembered yet.)

And what's up with that about the value of his estate being so low (unless "more than $50,000" could potentially mean "significantly more")? Otherwise, he must have decided to leave as little as possible to fight over.

http://wonderwall.msn.com/tv/judge-w...-1717398.story

A judge has ruled that Sherman Hemsley's will, which granted control over his estate to Hemsley's long-time friend Flora Enchinton Bemal, was valid, and that his body can now be released for burial. However, the attorney for the man claiming to be Hemsley's half-brother, who had contested the will, has indicated that he will seek a stay of the ruling. Sherman continues to await the final outcome.

For those wanting to pay their respects (now or in the future), Sherman will be given a military funeral and laid to rest (at a yet-unspecified date) in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery (near El Paso, Texas), in recognition of his service in the Air Force prior to his acting career.

What the hell kind moronic law prevents a body from being buried?
This is just unacceptable - no one needs laws like this.
What POS low life enforced that law?
Some bottom feeder, no doubt.

RIP (It took long enough.)

http://www.elpasotimes.com/ci_220260...paso-wednesday

Sherman's interment at Fort Bliss apparently took place last Wednesday (21 November) immediately after the memorial service mentioned in the previous post. End of story.
