$73 horse at Pimlico

On Thursday May 7th, Pimlico Race 5, my top early pace horse, Special Rush, won and paid $73.60. The two prior races were also won by my #1 early pace selection.

I found a few horses for Saturday, May 9th, that fit the same pattern as Special Rush. Will the pattern win again? Maybe. Here they are:

FL 6 TRUMPET MAN #4 3/1
TDN 2 A. P. STEEL #3 8/1
IND 3 HOPE TO SHINE #7 4/1

I didn't play it, but I got to see the stretch run.

Nice hit!

Why wouldn't you play such an early pace stick out at those odds?! Were you just taking the day off? Win bettors can't afford to pass a mortgage paying mutuel like that up.

re: why didn't I play the win ticket

I'm slammed with handicapping work. I don't have time to watch 20 tracks at once, but I do watch races when I take breaks which is how I caught the stretch run. And these days, when I wager, it's only for very specific scenarios.

Trust me, there are plenty more $70+ horses to come, and at least a half dozen $150+ horses before the year is out.

One of the members on here told me I hit a nice Pick 5 payout at Gulfstream with my highlight selections the other day. I didn't even know. There's just too many tracks to watch.

Seems strange you don't play what you post!

I pick my spots very carefully these days. Churning a high volume of money for a low ROI is kind of pointless and unnecessarily stressful. I'd rather make 15 bets a month and have a fat ROI and no stress.

Plus, I'm having a lot of fun sharing these numbers. I get texts and phone calls all day from people hitting stuff. Helping other people make money...how much is that worth? Kinda priceless.
