Harvey Pack

Watching Harvey Pack at DRF.Com,is the most entertaining thing in racing. He also, makes the most sense. He is still relevant after all these years. NYRA should have a Harvey Pack day.

If you ever want to bet Harvey Pack picks, I think you'll have bookies standing in line.

Harvey really didn't make any picks.Just talked about racing and the races in an entertaining way. He also told great stories. If you don't think Harvey knows the game, then I would respectfully disagree with you.

Harvey used to have a show before the races on the weekends at Belmont and Saratoga.and go over all the horses in the daily double (when there was only one a program). He didn't make selections. I remember one time when he had something to say about every horse in the race, but omitted an Oscar Barrera horse that paid $51 to win.

Bookies have been standing in line since the dawn of time to book anybody's and everybody's picks.

His book "May the Horse be with you: Pack at the Track" was written in 2007 and is a great read.

Harvey is a legend, and a very funny one at that.
His book (May The Horse Be With You) is not an in depth read by any means, but i sure as hell was entertained.
I don't think many folks listen to Harvey for his picks.

Harvey Pack is a racing legend, no two ways about it.

The idea of throwing the program at the end of the day and saying 'may the horse be with you' is as good as it gets.

Anyone know what ever happened to Tony Demucci, a frequent guest on Harvey's show?

Pack used to host the "Paddock Club" on site at all three NYRA tracks.
His regular guests included, Russ Harris of the NY Daily News, Paul Corman, John Pricci of NY Newsday, Mike Watchmaker and of course Andy Beyer.
Pack also hosted the "Racing From..." on what was then SportsChannel NY.

i was a young man then and i loved that recap show....harvey was great at pointing out vulnerable faves and he was funny and entertaining. most of the guys on the otb channel here are stiff suits that never laugh or tell a joke. anyone that loves racing knows that this guy lived a full life around the race track.......the show was one of a kind, his schtick behind siros was the best "pick banter show" ever and the book is great if you play horses. i had him sign mine when i bought it one morning at siros. the game would not be as fun as it is without characters like harvey in it! internet betting will never replace the personalities you get from actually going to the track and harvey is an example of that.

absolutely true - always entertaining and good for the game, on SCNY or in person at the Spa...

Time only matters when you're in jail.
