Wasp's, Thoroughbreds, Queen's and Saratoga

The Chistinia Stable. Named for Queen Christnia, of Sweden, is owned by Harry (deceased) and Jane "dupont" Lunger.

Queen Christnia was responible for the Colonization of Deleware in the year 1600.
She Divided the Land up with 100 Familys. The Christina Hundred they were known as.

Mr,. Harry Lunger is a Direct descendant of a Christina 100 family. His wife is a "Dupont Blood."

Harry had a Dregree from Princeton and a Law degree from Harvard. He opened Deleware downs in 1937. Was the Lawyer for the Deleware Congress. They won the Delaware Oaks and the Deleware Handicap 8 times Combined.

He loved horses and always let his wife name the stock.

They had a very successful Filly (Obeah). The Lungers owned vast land in Jamicia. Natives that Tended thier land believed in a Evil Spirit called "OBEAH". So Mrs Lunger named the Filly after the Spirit.

Obeah was a VERY successful Broodmare and was bred multiple times to Norther Dancer.

Later in her Broodmare Carreer her Foals were poor. She was also Barren two consecutive years. Then a weak Foal, and then Barren again.

They Finally Moved her to Pennsylvannia, and she was sent to Maryland to be Matched with Deputy Minister. She shipped back to Pennsylvannia and Dropped her last Foal.

When the Obeah spirit is Believed to be casting spells. Its tradition that the Natives run to there house for a WAND to ward off the spells cast by the spirit.

Mrs Lunger named the Filly. Go For Wand.

After a Brilliant, but short lived Career, Go for wand broke down in the Breeders cup Distaff. She was named the Posthumous 3YO champion in 1990. And was inducted into the racing Hall of Fame in 1996.

They buried Go For Wand just past the Finish line in the infield at Saratoga.

Here's a Picture of her grave, a few days after her burial.
