Stuff that isn't around anymore
I was going to ask you all what things you remember that no longer exist but, as it's possible to search for certain items, thought I would instead ask what are some things you remember from your childhood but don't see around anymore.
Anyone remember Fudge Town (sounds like a gay porn site!) cookies by Burrys?
Mystery Date (and I do mean the groovy one and not the more 50's looking one.)?
How about the interactive, stress-relieving candy Bonomo Turkish Taffy (the one you'd smack against a wall or hard surface to break up)?
Space food sticks?
Super Elastic Bubble Plastic (wonder how toxic that stuff was... I remember the smell being well, put it this way...you'd probably need a hazmat suit today)?
I can remember my mom using VO5 hairspray (the company is still around but not the lethal spray can that looked like it could survive armageddon and hey I just remembered the commercials had someone named Rula Lenska who sounded like a drag queen) and the sound from the aerosol can going on and on and on and on (sssssssss for what seemed for 20 minuites) and still wonder if she's responsible for one third of all the air pollution in the country.
There were signs outside a building that said "Save Soviet Jewry" and every time I passed it wondered why Soviet jewelry needed saving.
Mary Quant makeup (they used to sell it at Judy's which is no longer around)?
Huge poloroid cameras and ads for sea monkeys whatever those were...
.
What things do you remember?

Space sticks -- yummy.
Sea Monkeys were brine shrimp they sold through the mail for children to torture.

Had sea-monkeys but preferred ant farms. Would go out in the yard, collect other ants, and have ANT WARS!...

Aaah thank you. I have wondered about this for a few decades now (not nonstop, mind you) and so do appreciate the answer!
What do you remember (beside the food of astronauts)?

Am I remembering this correctly... couldn't you send away for a vial of either red or black ants or have I lost my mind?

Good things like Candy Cigarettes available at the little league park concessions so we could be like the good players that preferred Chesterfields. (A.B.C. Always Buy Chesterfields). Good days!

You would send away for a vial of ants that were from somewhere not around where I live... the reason I know this is those ants would absolutely thrash anything I put in there with them.
