Duck Dynasty
Are you kidding me. There is a show about 4 bearded rednecks who made a fortune manufacturing duck decoys ? Really ?
Reality shows are the bottom of the barrel (IMO) when it comes to entertainment.
Shows about pawn shops, people losing weight, abandoned storage units, housewives, etc... what have we come to ??

Oh is that what Duck Dynasty is about? I didn't know.
Have you perchance encountered those demure and cultured gentlewomen of the Bad Girls Club?
It will make you question your faith in humankind within about 5 seconds.

Yeah, and they are holding out for $200k per episode for season FOUR...
Most popular show on A&E and most-watched reality show on cable. Season three opener drew 8.6M viewers and scored a 4.0 rating in the key demographic.
Nothing surprises me when it comes to the concepts of these shows anymore, but the fact that they can pull audiences like that... hard to fathom...

At first i thought this show was a cartoon, but nope, it's just another reality show based in Louisiana.
I know i'm missing some, but what's the obsession with this state?
Duck Dynasty
Hillbilly Handfishin
Cajun Pawn Stars
Ragin Cajuns
Bayou Billionaires
Swamp People
Billy The Exterminator
and a few more i'm sure
What's worse is that our ex-con ex-governor Edwin Edwards (fresh outta jail) has his own reality show that will air soon.
Overkill - enough already...i live in the heart of Cajunland and we're really not that interesting, or funny, or rich, or stupid.....or smart

Let me jump ahead.
I don't watch it regular. But I have watched it.
I get what it is and why it's successful.
For some of the same reasons "The Bible" was such a big ratings hit, by cable standards anyway. DD is the anti-Kardashian's
http://www.realitytea.com/2013/03/27...atch-the-show/
It has strong Religious overtones and a strong emphasis on family.
The end of each show has the family sitting down to dinner while the narrator explains the moral of the story the episode was about.
It resonates with anti Kardashian's

I'd add Judge Judy, The Peoples Court, Judge Joe Brown, Maury and Jerry Springer to any list of bad shows.
Personally, I like the original Pawn Stars show from Vegas with Rick Harrison, his son Hoss, Chumlee and the Old Man.

I've watched it a few times in about ten minute intervals between commercials. It wasn't obnoxious like most of the reality shows, but it wasn't very interesting either. At least not interesting enough that it kept me from flipping away when a commercial did come on. I see plenty of rednecks everyday - I think it must be one of those things that is alluring partially because much of the audience can't relate and that alone makes the characters entertaining. Or something like that. I don't know... I just didn't really see the allure.

I've only watched two episodes of "The Bible" and found the acting was terrible.

I think I saw one episode where they went out beaver hunting...shooting at beaver with semi-automatic weaponry and destroying their dam with a flamethrower...if you can't see the allure in something like that, well then God help you...

The only reality tv show I watch is Pawn Stars.
It's like Antiques Roadshow with some humor.
