Yeah that's a pretty good video. Definitely one of the better maps.
Main things though as best I understand them. ISIS isn't in Idlib. Idlib is the last holdout of the Free Syrian Army, al Queda, and other anti-Assad militants.
The long border running NW to SE between red and yellow is the Euphrates River Valley and the main campaign against ISIS. The Kurds are squeezing from the north and Assad/Iran from the south.
The whole conflict is pretty confusing and is easiest understood by saying...
I'm a ______ fighter shooting bullets at ______. If I run out ______ will give me more.
Anyone of those blanks can result in a completely different way of completing the statement.

I haven't thought about this conflict in about 3 years.
I don't care.
I can see stuff... based on what information is broadcast and then following basic incentives, but I do not care about this stuff. I have no idea how the story has changed.

I don't follow this stuff, other than skimming occasional headlines and thread topics
I had thought the purpose of this proxy conflict was to destabilize Russia's economic and power system from Tartus to Sevastopol?

this stuff is not interesting to me. I like horses and business.
I do not care about this stuff. Once in a while I see stories in the off-topic section when I am bored

It’s ok not to care Robert, I understand...a situation like Syria today is very complex and confusing. There are so many actors involved now. But we have reached a turning point now in our global political situation, where, once again, “the stuff” may becoming home to roost so that none of us will have the luxury of not caring about “it”...
Syria is a type of mafia-style state controlled by a ruling family, extensions of that family, and a state security apparatus...These mafia-style states seem to be gaining momentum...maybe this has been the real condition for the world’s countries for many years, and it just hasn’t been that apparent to us...hidden in plain sight, accepted as how things are...
Putin’s Russia is just emerging, but it seems obvious that it is a mafia state in my opinion...it seems very likely that our government is as well...this is very troubling for me...It is all connected...we need to start talking about the reality of just how the world is organized and run, ..I tried to look away and lose myself in fun activities, distract myself from it all, but “it” doesn’t let us go...

It appears that Turkish Intelligence has carried out a raid capturing a known-bombing suspect from the attack in 2013 inside Syria.
Also Turkish armor columns have been seen heading into the Northern Hama region.
Odds of Turkish/Assad throwdown are increasing.

We know that the West (read...WHOEVER, (as the new Politically Corrected Vigors is no longer allowed to say THE NAME) want Assad gone yesterday...this Russia/ Turkey pact means that the rebels can be basically “contained” then starved out, or picked off over time by Assad’s Forces...will force the hand of the West to play the gas card now...blame Assad again, without proof, the new Saddam, the excuse to rock the Syrian turf...and finally get him out...of course in the name of democracy, of freedom...in the name of humanitarian empathy for the victims...the red line crossed, then all hell breaks loose...more ethnic cleansing...rah rah go team.
