the linked site missingmoney.com (yes, it is legit - it's not a scam) provides info from most states on missing and unclaimed monies. it then enables a person to process the claim on the site and gives the choice of going directly to the appropriate state office for those who are more comfortable doing it that way
I used them and got over $100 refunded that went missing over 40 years ago
I also searched my friends and had the pleasure of telling 3 of them that there was money due them
