buck passer in the X Line

For the latest Derby Dozen there are 5 horses that have Buckpasser in the X line:

Concert Tour BX

Medina Spirit 2 BX

Spielberg BX

Risk Taking 2 BX

Known Agenda BX

NOTE: 2 BX MEANS TWO LINES GO TO BUCKPASSER IN THE X ON THE DAM SIDE

By my count there are now seven that have the points to be in the Derby.

Good to have you back Stan. I just looked at the derby points and it seems you can add the following:

Life the King

Proxy

There are a few more out there such as Prevalence, depending on what they do in their upcoming races. These two added to yours would be 7. Again, not the derby dozen, but the derby point system.

Concert Tour
Known Aggenda
Like the King
Mandaloun
Sanithood
Soup And Sandwhich
Weyburn

The trail this year was a bit light in Buckpasser horses. I don't know which, if any make the 37.8 mark

buckpasser X

Here is an interesting point. No horse carrying Buckpasser in the X line has ever won the Derby if it did NOT qualify on my 37 4/5 final 3/8 in a big 5 prep race.

What do you think of the lack of lasix and the changes in distance in the LAD ? I look at any horse that makes the 37.8 mark.

I saw overtook on HRN some time ago, but then it looked like he was pulled?

change in distance and lasix

I think i'll stick with the big 5 preps as most significant.. No horse has ever won the roses while coming directly out of the Louisiana Derby. Lil E Tee if i remember ran in the Louisiana Derby and then ran in a big 5 prep before the Derby.

Stats show the big 5 preps make a great impact as far as ky derby winners are concerned. Running in the money is an entirely different and tricky situation.

As far as Lasix is concerned there is not enough data to go on to make any solid decisions. It would be nice to know the colt you like can without lasix before derby day.

It's Grindstone you're thinking of - won Louisiana Derby, then 2nd in Arkansas Derby (to Zarb's Magic). Lil E. Tee won the Jim Beam and then ran 2nd in Arkansas Derby (to Pine Bluff) before Kentucky Derby win. He never got to race in Louisiana.

War Emblem and Funny Cide ran in the Louisiana Derby also, neither winning it, then WE ran in the Illinois Derby and FC ran in the Wood as their last race coming into the Derby.

Until Grindstone did it, think Black Gold was the only winner of the LA Derby and the Ky Derby. Risen Star, to me, was the best LA Derby winner over the last 40 years or so.

War Emblem ran in the earlier preps (Lecomte and Risen Star) but not in the La Derby.
