There is one general truth. The bigger the city, the bigger the problems, and the bigger the assholes.

80% or more of the people in this country are generally pretty much stupid and couldn't parallel park a tricycle.

Most people don't give a shit about anybody other than themselves and their family unless it involves politics for some weird reason. The "not in my neighborhood" mentality is real. Unless something truly affects them, they simply don't care.

Worst place I've ever been to was Cranston, RI. Never ran into a massive group of bigger dbags in my entire life. Best people? Well, of course, Nebraska.
Hey LDH:

Hope that you are well? Being a Husker alum and Superior, NE guy myself, of course, I can do little else but concur with your last....

It doesn't sound like you are talking about the far right-wing extremists. As I have said before, I doubt Trump will run again. If he does, he will likely lose at least some of his base from the very radical and usually racist alt-right. He will also likely lose a lot of those on the right that held their noses and voted for him as a vote against Hillary. They won't vote Dem, but they won't vote for Trump again either.

One of the reasons for the Dems taking the House was a much greater than normal turn-out of Dem voters last November. Certainly Trump had something to do with that. The same thing is likely in 2020.

The above-average people hire the below-average people to handle such menial tasks.

The Blue Wave didn't happen last November. Certainly not to the standards expected from the left.

We have a horribly horrifically hated President that gets 90% MSM negative news, and he gained a couple of seats in the all important Senate.

The House switched Blue, but below normal historical standards for an incumbent sitting President.

Simply put, the Blue Wave didn't amount to anything.

As for 2020? I'm not sold Trump runs again.

As for right-wing extremist, or alt-right, who exactly falls into that category?

I gave an opinion, for which I have previously provided arguments to support it. I don't know what a talking point means here. Is it different than an opinion?

We is some good people Vinnie.

Some will never understand the beauty of sitting on your porch and enjoying an unobstructed starry night. Some will never understand the beauty of seeing 10 miles all around you till basically the eye can see. Some will never understand a 3 hour round of golf. Some will never understand that waiting in lines is a waste of time. Some will never understand that your neighbor could also be your best friend.

Some will never understand.

It actually exceeded most people's expectations and models... I said it would be slaughter and predicted a +40 house... what were the results again?

In states he won by 20% in 2016.

Checks stats... yup... lie.

LDH,

I have been to every state and 53 countries and disagree with you. While Nebraska is everything you stated, you need to go just a little further west. Wyoming is the best place I have ever been too.

A sextet of thoughts on 2020

1.Trump's opponent in 2020 couldn't be worse than Hillary. And probably a lot better.

2.Democrats thought they were going to cruise to victory. They won't make that mistake again.

3.A significant portion of Trump's support came from the over 75 set.Not to be morbid but many have either gone to that big voting precinct in the sky or may be unable to vote. That could be a difference in an older skewing state like MI, WI and PA in which Trump had a small victory margin.

4.The economy better continue to be going well.Independents will be looking for an excuse to not vote for the Donald.

5.The so called "black wave" failed to materialize;the GOP got 15 % fewer votes in midterms from black voters than the 2014 midterms.Has anybody heard from #the RealCandaceOwens lately? Not too many White House photo ops with the Prez are in her future, I'm willing to venture.

6. Finally, Trump was the most unique, unusual Presidential candidate since Andrew Jackson.Well the novelty's worn off and his shtick is getting a little old.The vote against Hillary in 2016 could turn into the vote against Donald in 2020.
