TPR

I miss the Doc Sartin software, But it won't work with today's computers. Any body know of a Total Pace Rating like software that works with Bris files? Or manual input?

I know the new Sartin software is called RDSS and you can get it through Equibase. Ted Craven is on here if you want to contact him.

There is also a program called Pace Evaluator. I'm not sure if they are still in business.

If you're talking about Pace Launcher, all you need is a DOSBox emulator and the copy protection override. If it still doesn't work, DOSBox, a copy of Windows XP (which can be downloaded online easily), an emulator software like VirtualBox, VMWare, or if you run Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate, the XP Mode function will give you a virtual XP computer that you can run most of the old Sartin DOS programs.

Bob Purdy still sells Synergism, but that uses HDW files. Hope this helps a little.

Isn't there some sort of XP emulator you can use with Win10...same thing people were saying you had to use in order to run EquiSim? Maybe that would work with the Sartin stuff?

I have Win8 but not familiar with emulators. I once had a TPR style program made for me yrs ago but it used TSN files and you know what happened there. Loved that program, hit good winners with it.

If you are talking about the TPR (Total Pace Ratings) that was outlined in Dick Schmidt's book "Pace Makes the Race" I have an EquiSim FV that will give you the EPR, FFR and TPR ratings.

Longshot:

For ES (Equisim) that you are referring to, is it one of your own Formula View Algorithms or templates, or, is it one that is already present in ES V6 when the program is purchased?

Equisim can be launched in windows 10 simply by right clicking the application, then clicking on properties, then clicking the compatibility tab. You then can select the version of windows you want to run it in.

Hi Lefty
I have a gmail account and have been on the site since it's inception, maybe consider contacting Ted here by private message if you wish.

RDSS has the TPR #'s as well as many other screens, settings etc available for customization.

Regards
Richie P

Hi Lefty, good to see you back in action! As Richie says, you CAN have a GMAIL address, you just can't self-register with one (amazing how restricting new registrations from GMAIL, YAHOO, HOTMAIL etc cuts down on SPAM registrations from Belarus, Ukraine and the Seychelles - those hotbeds of racing interest).

FWIW, your User Name at PaceandCap is ... Lefty Just email registration@paceandcap.com and I'll change your email address and get you a new PWD, no worries.

TPR figs are a component of RDSS, as are most other Phases of Sartin (and post-Sartin).

You can also find lots of information on using your older Sartin programs in virtual environments like DosBox and others in the 'Classic Sartin Programs' Forum.

From the Gotham Stakes:

Vinnie the EquiSim TPR is part of a Formula View that I wrote after reading Dick Schmidt's book and does not come with the program.
