Oh deer!

FL 1st race today, close call with some deer coming out of the infield and crossing the track just in front of the horses. Luckily, the field wasn't bunched up and the leaders were able take up slightly and yield the right of way.

I remember years ago a huge goose flew into a horse in the stretch run in NY.

Had a bird fly right into a horse's face at Parx yesterday, which caused him to veer sharply and lose the rider.

Ha! There's a famous radio exchange with a woman who called in and offered up moving deer crossing signs as a solution to the problem of autos hitting deer.
