God Bless you Ralph and all other Veterans on this awesome board.

USMC 6th Marines from 1986 to 1990. Served in Operation Just Cause Panama and a few other engagements that weren't exactly on the grid...

Dave, I enjoyed your story about the Dental situation. Believe it or not, in Marine Boot Camp on Thanksgiving Day I had my four wisdom teeth removed. I looked like a damn hamster afterward. My D.I. told me "you must want to be a Marine awfully bad". "I can't believe that you let those Navy Quack dentists touch your Mouth"!!

Gosh, it seems like it was just the other day.... God Bless all of you folks and your families.

Thank you for your service Kbatch57!! My younger brother was a Navigator for fast attack subs in the Navy. In spite of that fact, "I still love him"!! You know I completely jest.

I love all my brothers and sisters in arms from every branch of service. God Bless them each second of each and every day.

I think that it it is extra special when a married couple can do this for the community, in small business you see those doing what they can. Much better than what someone else wants people to do.

Sorry I'm late, had a 246 Birthday to celebrate then barbecue the next day, ALL day, at the VFW.

Always!

Yes Ralph, I agree, whenever I seen a mess hall on a Navy base I swear I thought I was out dining. God bless the Navy for paying me and feeding me

In Korea, I was in Camp Henry/Camp Walker in the Teagu area. For those unfamiliar, we worked at Camp Henry and lived at Camp Walker. They were separated by about two or three miles.

Basic at Polk was from late April until the end of July. Yes, that’s more than 8 weeks. I was not particularly in shape at the time. They sent me for enhanced physical training until I could keep up with the rest in regular basic. Then Fort Hood directly after that until I was sent to Korea around Columbus Day.

I don't know how I missed this thread a year ago. Navy 1960-67 - Coast Guard 1969-1989. I'm 80 years old and wear one of those ball caps. God bless all of you.

Thanks to all that served and I wish our veterans were treated better.
I probably could not have passed a physical due to a neck injury where I can barely turn my head. Once I found out pilots and plane crew needed uncorrected 20-20 vision that kind of killed my thoughts of trying to get in the Air Force.

Now that had to be a great tour of duty right there. Yes indeed. I enjoyed great liberty there in Subic and Olongapo. I cant remember too many of the places I hung out there but the Smapaguita Club, Paulines and the Cave and Jollos come to mind, the cockfights and of course White Rock beach. but there were many others for sure. When I first was there the streets on Magsayay were not even paved yet. One thing about the P.I. You never lose your girlfriend. You just lose your turn.
