Is ther a DRF cover jinx???

Noticed that both Saturday and Sunday the horses they featured on the cover of the form were beaten as "odds on" favorites.

That's like saying there's a speed bias after watching only 2 races

Need a larger sample size!

They feature the best horses on the cover, the best are more likely to under achieve than over achieve. It's hard for an odds on horse to exceed expectations. Much easier for a 50/1 horse to exceed expectations.

There used to be - it was a standing joke amongst us players at Fairmount in the late '80s, the kiss of death was having one of your favorite horses pictured on the front of the DRF - it was as bad as the Sports Illustrated curse.

It's been so long since I bought a print version of the Form, I don't know if this holds true anymore.

Does the horse being pictured on the DRF website count?

They seem to be featuring Imperative on the front of the website. That horse has very little shot on Saturday.
