Actually his reference to Thanos-like is appropo. Many world leaders have a God complex. A quality of being a Thanos is that your world view is supreme and must be instituted at all costs and without thought for the darker aspects of the fallout. Doing evil in the name of good.

How?!?! Unless by "broker" you mean help Russia carve up Ukraine.
You really have no idea what has gone on do you?
Russia was already occupying Ukrainian territory they were fighting to take back.
Please stop commenting on this conflict until you're willing to do the absolute minimum of research.

What deal did you want Biden to broker?
Russia was occupying parts of Ukraine since 2014. Ukraine has been fighting to kick them out since then.
You wanted Biden to go in and advocate for Moscow?

Have feeling that Ukrainian prez placidly reciting grocery list of financial expectations from us was bad politics. Tone of entitlement may backfire.
Moral imperative aside, his tenor there will not help dems in nov elections.

According to the below article, Russia was willing to withdraw from Ukraine if they promised not to join NATO- but the deal was not acceptable to the West (US, UK)

THANOS believed the world would be better off if at least 50% of the population was wiped out.
There are those who lead the "climate change" movement who believe exactly the same thing. And some have even said as much.

The terms of that settlement would have been for Russia to withdraw to the positions it held before launching the invasion on February 24. In exchange, Ukraine would “promise not to seek NATO membership and instead receive security guarantees from a number of countries.”

Why should Ukraine have to surrender territory? Especially after the Kyiv offensive failed and the atrocities in Bucha discovered?

The agreement apparently was put together back in April and was apparently agreed to by both sides. If true it would seem that Ukraine was ok with losing that territory. Not to mention stopping the death and destruction

Edit to the previous post;
This was reported by Fiona Hill in Foreign Affairs... its quite a bit more nuanced than what is reported in the mainstream media.
I have a subscription so I can link some if it you'd like.
I'd find it hilarious if a lot of posters here chose one sentence from a complete write up by Fiona Hill as their Alamo...

I find it hilarious that people are still so mostly blind to the vile corruption of this country and this world.
It was first brought to light by the Kennedy assassination...and has gone way downhill ever since.

Some updates since it's been a few days...
Ukraine has ordered a media blackout in the Kherson region as something is going on. On the Russian side there is talk of civilian evacuation as well talk of Russia repositioning its forces...
It's tough to know what exactly is going on but one theory is Russia may be abandoning positions and using a civilian evacuation as cover to reposition forces...
Could also be nothing but something appears to be up.
Meanwhile Russia is bombing away with what limited ordinance it has which is mostly Iranian drones and apparently Iranian supplied short range ballistic missiles. Because of this Israel has officially announced its support for Ukraine. What that will entail remains to be seen.
Israel is a country with a lot of options.... none of them good...
Mostly it... not much else. It's getting muddy in the north and east of Ukraine. Mud season =/= fighting season.
