Limo Crash kills 20 people
https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/07/us/ne...ash/index.html
18 people in one limo? All dead.
2 pedestrians also killed.
Seat belts not required in the back seats.
This is going to ripple through the limo industry.

From what I read, the State has liability here....how much? Who knows? Poor design on the roadway

Sickening.
I won't be shocked if the cell phone had activity with the driver.

300 ft recognition points in a 50 mph zone is pretty short.
One article I read said it’s more like 230ft.

Regardless of traffic signs, and roads of travel. A limo service needs to be on point about the route they are traveling for being very well paid for their service.
The very service Limo's give their customers is to treat them well, and get them from point A to point B in a timely and luxurious fashion.
It is the very reason why people pay for the service.
Otherwise, we can all call Uber or Lyft.

I heard, but can't confirm, it was a birthday party and they hired the limo so they could party and be safe.

This happened roughly 40 miles from where I live. Such a tragedy. Thoughts and prayers to all involved and their families.

New today.
Limo was not supposed to be on the road, and driver was not properly licensed.

Mig lives in the NY Catskill Mountains.
Richard Migliore's brother in-law was in the Limo.

This isn't true. His brother-in-law did pass away but it wasn't related to this. The Mig put his name in his tweet and it's not on the list of victims.

boom, sorry, my bad. Thanks. I read both his tweets and knowing he's right there, and the language of sudden loss, I incorrectly tied it together. Sorry to anyone affected by my incorrect post. He did lose his brother in-law suddenly but not in this accident. Thanks again Lex.

Son of the owner of the Limo service arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide.

It is incumbent upon all of us to be ultimately responsible for our oun safety, just as it was for the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Your gut tells you that your last flight on the same plane was rough, and what do you do and get on it again just because someone says do it? The cheep seats are not the best way to go.
