HANA gets a mention

In case you haven't seen this... HANA got mentioned in this article:

Quote:
What Horseplayers Want

Horse racing’s biggest customers are often its harshest critics. They love the thrill of cashing tickets, but get frustrated by the issues and problems that they see so clearly. We asked horseplayers from across Canada what they really want. And they weren’t shy in telling us.

You're right. I didn't realize you had to subscribe.

Someone sent me a copy by email.

I googled the article and found the link above and just posted the link. I thought the whole article appeared below the first paragraph, but I didn't actually bother to look until just now.

Sorry about that.

I will post the part about HANA.

Here's the part about HANA:

Quote:
Rawlinson emphasizes the most obvious
but overlooked ingredient in maintaining
a healthy base of horseplayers and healthy
handle — new customers. It’s such a common
oversight, the Horseplayers Association
of North America (HANA) website doesn’t
include the lack of new, young bettors on
its “Where the Game is Broken” list. “They
[tracks] still focus all efforts on increasing
purse money, not the number of permanent,
repeat customers willing to bet their money.

Mine was 15.80 (first wager), and coke was a dime...
