I expect the schools would be horrible. They are a symptom of a broken society. If I were that boys parent I would be up in the teachers/administrations face.

Children's success in school can be traced back to "The Family of Origin."
The child's first five years of life, before entering school, are powerful determinants on how that child will do.
Other factors are obviously in play too.
Children with two parents do better.
Absentee fathers in the Black culture don't help.
In this lad's case, the school was obviously negligent in passing him on after so many missed days, and classes.
But that isn't the only school in Baltimore where kids are failing proficiency exams.
Walter Williams, who recently passed away, wrote several columns on the failure rates in Baltimore schools.

great points Dave. I see this every day in my staff.

Multiple kids/no interest in disciplining them/no interest in working more than 20-30 hours a week. That would mean they would lose their subsidized home and food stamps. While they have up to 4 children withy 4 different "baby-daddys" or "Baby Momma's"

No matter the race, I see this. I have a few with only one child.

I have 2 with 4 children.

I have 1 with 7 children.

All are overwhelmed it seems

Yet the promiscuity continues

Thanks guys that commented. I wish I had appreciated all he did more when I was younger but I eventually came around.

As for Baltimore, there is a reason I left and honestly other than a Preakness it is doubtful I'll ever go back. It has plenty of pluses, but for me it was no place to retire to (from the military, not from working) with a family and the school system was a big part of that.

I put blame on the kid, the mother and the school. As far as the mother is concerned, did she not read his report card for four years? If so, then why didn't she do something about it long ago. If not, then she isn't taking an active interest in her sons life. She bears much of the blame, for her to solely blame the school shows she is trying to defend her poor parenting.

I wonder how the new students will assimilate into the public schools around the country that arrive on the southern Biden freeway. Some have little or no schooling from their native countries. Their language may also be a dialect only used in a small region.

What do the public schools do with these students? Do they hire new teachers and try to get these students up to speed on English skills?

Some are predicting over a quarter million 'minors' this year alone.

15% of kids arent going back after Covid. They will fill in those slots and be perfect little Democrat socialists in just a few years.
