But how could this guy have a record when Hillary is still selling secrets to the world?

If he received a court martial than I do not think it can be expunged.

You're probably right. I'll have to investigate that.

The thing is I was not in the nuclear program but have a lot of friends that were and still are and they said the guy was just an idiot for taking them and then keeping them to show his kids when they grew up.
I still want to believe it was handled in federal court and not a court martial. I'll try and look deeper. Either way it was wrong and against the law.

About time. The guy did something stupid but didn't deserve to have his life destroyed. IMO Trump did the right thing.

The felony is gone. It will become “non reportable” like it never happen. Most importantly it cannot be used against him. It doesn’t mean he can’t be asked about it...though........hopefully time will put an end to that
They will probably go back and redo his discharge too

I hope this is the case. The guy no more deserved the harsh sentence he received than Hillary deserved getting totally off the hook for her crimes.

The acceptance of a Presidential pardon is an admission of guilt. It is the opposite of expunging a conviction.
Google Burdick v. United States. It’s an interesting case. This is the same discussion that went on after the Arpaio pardon. Ford justified his pardon of Nixon by pointing out that his acceptance of it was an admission of guilt.
If he had evidence he was wrongly convicted, which he has never claimed, he could have petitioned the court to expunge the conviction but that would be impossible once he accepted the pardon which, as mentioned, is an admission of guilt.

Disparate treatment under the law is unconstitutional. He took some photos of himself at work. BFD.....he didn’t do anything close to as egregious as what Hillary did, and Huma committed even worse offenses. This guy never denied taking the pictures nor did he use a hammer, bleaching software and outright lies to hide evidence.
I’m disappointed Trump didn’t do this sooner. Why nobody has started a gofundme for the guy is another good question.

JR,
He still committed a major blunder. You can't compare it to Hillary. He took photos that are classified. He was briefed on the requirements inside the sub and he signed that he knew the requirements of a top secret clearance yet he decided to take these photos.
POTUS waited until he served the time given by the federal judge was completed and than issued the pardon. This ex-sailor should be eternally grateful that he was granted a pardon and his time served will hopefully be a DETERRENT to any future abuses by other idiots.

He did deny taking the pictures. He then smashed his computer and camera, and drove across the state to throw the fragments in the woods behind his grandfathers house.
On the other hand, he was smart enough to go on FOX which is the almost the same thing as meeting personally with the President.

Um no he did not deny and once again you support your zero rating.

the zero rating is idiotical, and so is the text when you put your mouse over the dot.
i had 10 or 12 or something just from the racing forum and that i would soon be famous!!!
now after visiting the off topic bit, and letting my feelings be known, i am now zero!
and that i am an unknown quantity at this point.
but they obviously know much more about me now, and that is why the wingnuts took all my points away!
i reckon zero points here is a badge of honour.
look how many the fruit loop has?
would one not rather have infinitely less than that?
