Thanks for the video elephants are magnificent animals who devote their entire lives caring and watching the calves grow up. They will do everything in their power to make sure the infants reach maturity as the video shows.

elephants and whales are intelligent, caring, social and extremely familial creatures. holding them in captivity is like a prison sentence.

Actually, not the parents, but probably the mother and perhaps a female relative such as an aunt or older sister, cousin, or just another cow. Bulls are indifferent fathers, and rarely defend or come to the aid of calves.

I don't think we fully realize how intelligent and feeling most animals are because they can't communicate it to us. I've seen signs of excellent memory and unexpected intelligence from frogs and turtles, let alone mammals.

If I had the will power to become a vegetarian I would, but for me it's complicated by not being able to eat a lot of significant fruits, vegetables, and nuts. 500 years from now human beings are going to look back at this period and consider us absolute savages for the way we treat animals.

It's conceivable that humans won't even be around in 50 years, much less 500. If that were the case, animals might well survive and get the last laugh.

Lilly has spent her whole life on the streets, suffering cruelty and exploitation as a begging elephant... and now is our chance to save her!


We have received consent from the Forest Department and the courts to bring 35-year-old Lilly to our Haryana Elephant Rehabilitation Center. We are moving our team in place right now to facilitate her rescue. Our hope is to have her on her way to her new home in 72 hours. We have a Wildlife SOS staff member with her, keeping an eye on her to ensure she remains safe.
