1997-Silver Charm-I just thought his win was gutty and awesome as he grinded it out.

2008-Barbaro-I thought the way he took command at 1m and drew off was the clasiest thing I saw in any Derby.

2004-Smarty Jones was fast and he looked good doing it. Lion Heart ran a big race in here.

2013-Orb-I liked what I saw from him winning against different pace situations in Florida and thought he would get a good trip in the Derby and I can definitely deal with 5.4-1 favorites! I admit screwing this up. I started using pedigree ratings this year but didn't do them for the late entrants and Golden Soul was tops for stamina this year. Would have had the ex,tri, and super had I checked.

2015-Bet against American Pharoah every step of the way and got beat. Didn't realize I was witnessing history til Preakness Day. Sense of anticipation after was bubbly.

I don't know about ranking but Silver Charm, Big Brown, I'll Have Another, American Pharoah = all jump off the page to me.

Barbaro was pretty amazing as well. Tough to know how good he was.

Tough to rank because I like looking at their competition too. I don't think Chrome or AP had much competition, but Silver Charm had to fight his eye balls out down the stretch vs some very good horses to win by a neck, head or nose.

#1 Silver Charm (the gutsy colt was a true champion)

#2 Real Quiet (this horse lost the triple crown by a neck, he was chased down by Victory Gallop, & I had Victory Gallop big in the Belmont, every time I watch the replay, I relive the moment to the extreme. Best photo finish I've ever seen)

#3 American Pharaoh (because Baffert trained him & he won the triple crown)

#4 Smarty Jones (great horse & a once in a lifetime for trainer John Servis. My uncle knows Servos, & he told me about this horse back in Dec as a 2 ur old. I bet this horse every time out, & I still can't believe he paid $9 to win in the Rebel, insanity!)

#5 Chrome (another great horse & a great story by the trainer Art Sherman.. Bad competition in 2014 as well just like AP's year.

#6 Barbaro (I wish he be er got hurt, he might gave won the triple crown.)

#7 Big Brown (a monster of a horse to win the derby in only his 4th start)

#8 Funny Cide (although thia horse made me some very nice money in the derby, he wasn't as good as any of the above. This is the type of horse that was ready to peak on derby day & any capper seeing him run against the best horse in Empire Maker that year knew that. Only thing that stopped me from.unloading on him.was the angle of the gelding BS)

#9 Orb (the top 3 finishers in this derby had the numbers to back them. Great exacta & triple. First year the point system was put into play)

#10 War Emblem (till this day, I still think this derby was rigged. This horse went uncontested the whole way around, & Proud Citizen followed, & it wasnt by coincidence he won the derby & Proud Citizen came in second 8 months after 9/11 & the Patriots won the super bowl....coincidence? No way!) If I'm.not mistaken, the silks were red, whirmte & blue, & Espinoza wore the same. War Emblem paid $43 to win, & the exacta returned $1,300, $2 triple $18,000 & a $1 super $92,000

War Emblem had green and white silks (Proud Citizen had blue and white ones), and was owned by the Thoroughbred Corporation, an Arabic group. I doubt that, if the powers-that-be wanted to fix the Derby, they would choose that horse to win it.

Add point given if you're going that route.

Wasn't one of the owners of Point Given the owner of War Emblem. I remember reading that Baffert suggested to the owner they buy War Emblem several weeks before the derby & pretty much Baffert told him he would win him the derby since he didn't the year before with PG.

I Stoll think its very shady how we went to war after 9/11 & the horses name that won was War Emblem, & of course Proud Citizen comes in second.

Anyway, those are my thoughts, take them with a grain of salt.

Of course he told him to f**k off, what was he supposed to do, take money from a guy whose supposed country might have been behind 9/11, how would that look?
