Measles outbreak?
Last year, 58 cases all year, 45 so far this year.
Vax is 97% effective, but are covid vax concerns stopping other existing ones?

Nope
Why would they?
Measles vaccine has been around forever...it's a known quantity
COVID was brand new at the time...tons of Democrats said DON'T TAKE IT because it's MADE BY TRUMP...that's why people didn't trust the COVID vaccine INITIALLY...it was DEMOCRATS who were the original ANTI-VAXXERS.
I have the video proof if you don't believe me:
More measles cases are more likely to be caused by all the people Biden is importing into the country from 3rd world shitholes that don't have successful VACCINE PROGRAMS for Measles like the USA has had for decades upon decades.
That's why they are shithole countries...and that's why they USED to be NOT ALLOWED into the country ILLEGALLY.

You have any data on who the 58 cases are?
That would be telling.
But why would they? There were a lot of anti-vax people long before covid.
Covid was icing on the cake for them.
I know it was dems who said no at first. I wasn't posting a political comment, just
a possible health concern.

Resurgence of diseases will continue as long as dimwits allow people from around the world enter the country with no vetting. When I was in school everyone got shots every year or 2. I do not remember what they were but I am fairly sure the kids from around the world now in those classes did not have them.

Do you really think there are a lot of parents out there in the USA who are not vaccinating their children against something like measles for any reason other than religious reasons (and this would be very rare, as there aren't many religions that forbid vaccines).

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/...persists-today
Quote:
Since 1979, Mississippi had vaccinated nearly all schoolchildren against measles. That state, one of the poorest in the nation with some of the worst health outcomes, earned praise for its efforts to slow the spread of preventable illness. In July, Mississippi began for the first time to offer religious exemptions for routine childhood vaccinations, which followed a ruling from U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden that it had to offer exemptions like most other states.
Through these exemptions, Madad said more parents are opting their children out of vaccinations, influenced by misinformation. She expects use of these exemptions to expand because “because this is not just a public health issue, it’s also a political issue.”
Such exemptions have further hobbled outreach efforts by public health departments that have struggled for years due to other strains. Dr. Jesse Ehrenfeld, president of the American Medical Association that has opposed religious-based vaccine exemptions, echoed that these dispensations are informed by misinformation, which “continues to drive vaccine hesitancy.”

So it has nothing to do with COVID and everything to do with the autism thing that has been talked about for decades.
Thanks for confirming that.
Democrats telling you not to take the shot because, you know, TRUMP, surely didn't help anybody.
But for once, I agreed with Democrats. How do you like them apples?

Also, importing people from 3rd world shitholes where the measles vaccine uptake is SURELY under the 93% it is here in the USA, doesn't help things either.
But you won't admit that in a million years.
You keep doing you.

Well, we do not know who the 58 cases are, so we can't say what the cause is.
That needs to be known. That's what the increase is signalling.
Don't we have regulations that children must be vaccinated for measles to attend school, or is that just regional?

Neither I or the article confirmed anything of the sort. Also from the article:
Quote:
Now, experts say, the climate for misinformation is even worse.
During and even before the COVID pandemic, the public health community was overwhelmed by crisis, budget cuts and staffing shortages, and it initially dismissed the threat of anti-vaccine attitudes, said Heidi Larson, who directs the Vaccine Confidence Project. Those factors meant they fell behind in the fight against the technology being used to spread misinformation and disinformation.
False claims were fanned by people who genuinely believed vaccines were unsafe, but also by people with financial or political motives for using fear to control people’s behavior, she noted. With the COVID vaccines developed and deployed faster than ever before, the people who protested their use found a “a huge stage with any vaccine grievance anyone had,” Larson said.
Misinformation about the new virus shaped people’s perceptions of the need to get vaccinated against other diseases, like measles, Larson said, and may leave more long-lasting effects on public health.

It’s common sense that there will be more vaccine hesitancy. Autism is up to about 1 in 36(not exactly a rare occurrence anymore). Our governmental agencies have proven themselves to be completely corrupt. The words misinformation and disinformation are thrown around like they are the flavor of the day. Our own government, despite Nancy Pelosi saying not that long ago that they could not do so, basically forced the vaccine on millions of Americans (Either you get vaccinated or you lose your job/career). If you died or became disabled, the governments attitude is tough shit and of course they will blame anything except the real cause, as the reason. I am pretty sure a lot of school districts included Covid vaccines as part of their list of mandatory vaccines.

It's on the pharma companies, the US Gov't and the various health agencies to calm any of the worries parents might have, via complete transparency.
It's not the job of parents to be complete simps when it comes to the health and well-being of their children.

That was what I was originally getting at.
Parents should not be taking risks with their kids.
"Rage against the Machine" syndrome?
