I hate the fact they are adding Soviet BBs to the game. Have you seen the stupidity that is the USS Georgia in development too? T9 with 6, yup only 6, 18" guns that won't overmatch like the the Yamato's do? Stupid... especially when the one nation with a enough of actual ships built or laid down for a whole other line of battleships... lets just make something up.

That is my captain build except I went with PM instead of EL.

And those are my upgrades except I don't use Legendary MOd...I too think it sucks. Can't give away all of that range...

Is it just a driver issue JR? You're a tech guy so I'm sure you already checked that out. I have an older Saitek X52 joystick/throttle system that I like although I haven't used it in a long time. Saitek's (now Logitech) newer version is the X-56 Rhino which seems awesome. Prior to the X-52 I owned a Thrustmaster FCS which I actually liked a little better than the X-52. However, it was way less programmable. The new version is the T16000m which also looks like a winner.

Not to turn this into a flight sim thread, but if you like combat flight simulators, the venerable Falcon 4.0 (from 1998!) has been completely modded and updated and definitely worth checking out if you can find a copy. The mod you would need is called BMS and I believe it is up to v4.33.5.

Me too, Tom. Then they got too technical and outrageous. I won a "wizard" championship held in a bowling center in Houston when I was 16, and finished 2nd in 2 others. I used CH products and had the whole setup including their rudder pedals.

Falcon 4.0 was/is a great sim.

All of this talk makes me want off to dust off my copy of Fighter Combat: Tactics and Manuevering by Robert Shaw and start playing. Its a must read for anyone playing a well modeled sim.

Problem is most of the games have gone to a Free to Play model which is discouraging to people who played some of the great sims that rolled out in the late 90s to early 00s.

Aces High is one of the few still out there with the old subscription fee.

Is X-plane any good? After MS stopped on Flight Sim, I kind of stopped paying attention to the scene.

So strange that you can't find a good baseball game or flight sim on the PC.

If you are looking for an arcade-style baseball game like MLB The Show, then no there isn't one like that. The last one that I remember was MLB 2k12 from seven years ago. I have been tempted to buy Super Mega Baseball 2 which has some mods that take it from fictional to MLB but I haven't pulled the trigger as of yet. I still have MLB 2k11 if I have a hankerin' for pitching/hitting, but the reviews for SMB2 are pretty good. That said, if you are looking for a baseball text sim there is none better than OOTP now up to v20. You can play as the GM, manager, or both and it is really an in-depth game. It has the MLB license so you get real teams and players.

As far as flight sims, Steam has M$ Flight Simulator X and it is still being supported with DLC (paid add-ons). There is also other flight sims including X-plane and Aerofly FS2 (and assorted others) neither of which I have played.

I played SMB1 and actually might have bought SMB2...can't remember, which shows you that if I bought it, I haven't played it yet (I actually have a few games I bought on Steam that I haven't played...LMAO)

Can you point me to the mods? I looked for them a few months ago and couldn't find anything...

It didn't appear to me that SMB2 had mods in the Steam Workshop which is unfortunate as that is usually the best way to add mods to a Steam game. I did some searching (Reddit is good place for SMB2) and I posted some links. It seems that the best MLB mod is Project Awesome.

You have to have an account on MVPMods to download. PA...if you don't want to register there I think I still have a working account on the site. As far as Steam games...I have 117, the vast majority I haven't even installed. Damn those Steam sales!
