Book "Hollywood at the Races"

I just finished reading the book Hollywood at the Races by Alan Shuback published in 2019. 236 pages. $19.70 at Amazon.

The first 4 chapters are about the histories of the southern California tracks.

The rest of the chapters cover the stars who attended the races and owned horses Like Louis B. Mayer who ran MGM studios.

Chapter 6 was The gamblers -- The downfall of Mickey Rooney, Chico Marx and others.

You may own anther book he wrote, Bet with the Best: Expert Strategies from America's Leading Handicappers.

My wife and I got on the elevator at Hollywood park one night and Mickey from Seinfeld and the little Italian guy from Becker got on with us. They had a couple of very nice looking ladies with them.

Nice little chit chat (we didn’t act like we knew them) and pleasantries but they walked away talking about setting themselves “betting limits”

I just bought this book from Amazon in "like new" condition for $8.28, with shipping included...and mine says that it has 304 pages.

I didn't count the appendix, notes and bibliography in the page count.
