He was worse than ever.
I saw some things in his body language that make me worry for him physically……..

Americans always liked the other sports more than they liked horse racing. The only reason horse racing was "the most popular spectator sport" was because horse racing demanded that you had to go to a track in order to bet. Once that was no longer the case...horse racing sank way down the list of the country's "spectator sports".

And it was the only sport you could legally bet on outside of Las Vegas.

And prior to state lotteries, it was the only way you could bet legally outside of Vegas, period.
Even with the advent of state lotteries it had a monopoly on legalized gaming, which was slowly eroded as casino gaming took hold outside of NV. Now we're in an age where you can wager 24/7 on everything, including other sports, without being physically present at the location. No wonder horse racing is in a downward spiral - it's the "horse and buggy" v. the automobile and I feel like it hasn't quite adapted to this new reality.
We're getting afield from the America's Day at the Races topic - I think the regular NYRA broadcast crew does a very good job over the course of the year. I don't understand why they need to bring in Stevens and Amoss for Saratoga - there isn't any added value there versus the regular NYRA crew, in my opinion.

Hes better than Kinchon, who I wish would ride off into sunset in his cart and not stop until he gets to Hawthorn.

Are you including the internet racing audience, ADR, TVG?

I have no idea how he is on the air at this point. All he does is babble.

I’ll guess you won’t be investing in one of his shirts.
Or his picks

Good for Richie for calling out that d-bag irad ortiz and his bullshit, dangerous riding.
he will kill some one, and won't shed a tear.
stewards should of sent a message in last race and dq'd him. it would of stopped his BS immediately. instead, he will continue, and cause more accidents, incidents.
i mean NYRA allows bob baffert to run his horses on their circuit again, so their credibility is very little.

Quite a rant.
The winner should not have come down. I'm not a big fan of that kind of riding either but punishing the bettors is an odd take from someone that presumably bets. Fine him. Suspend him. But don't screw the bettors. Nothing that happened affected the order of finish.
You started by complimenting the credibility of someone employed by NYRA and then found some non sequitur to attack their credibility. Which one is it?

They should fine him, suspend him, and if that doesn't work.
MAKE HIM DO CART TALK FOR A FULL WEEK!

Get it...
Quick question for Andy, is Sara your new co-host for NYRA now? Hoping so since that would be my choice for your next co-host. Thanks

Any idea why such a long delay from live action to the broadcast on TV? Seeing about 25 seconds worth of space from the feed on my computer to the live show. Others seeing that long a spread? Seems excessive for a gambling event where people often wait to bet at the last second, so hopefully nobody's getting shut out.

I get that all the time on everything.
25 seconds is near normal.
Sometimes, it's over a minuye on some shows.
You Tube or YTTV can get 4-5 minutes behind over time.
