hell Matt the horse paid 13 bucks American ( 6.5)on the fixed odds market.

nary a mention of it on TVG.

Was that live racing odds or you had to bet early?

Matt should have known that ...does he know about Fixed Odds?

or maybe 95% of the people cant get in on it anyway

6.50 was the starting price. (SP). price available as the gate opened

and yes 99% of horseplayers werent at Monmouth yesterday but Larry Collmus was. nary a word from him yesterday.

11 races yesterday

8 races fixed odds was the better price.

As Allan has noted For the serious on track players you really have to be playing thru the fixed odds- maybe not all the time but they have to be considered every race. On and Off track players can also benefit by comparing fixed vs pari mutuel. I’ve observed but not thoroughly analyzed/documented that some steam will tip via pari mutuel but some will do on the fixed odds. For example, R5 on Saturday the winner opened at 4-1 on the tote and drifted to 6.40 (paid $14.80). In the fixed odds its final price was 7.50 (I caught it earlier at 9.00). Conversely, in R7 that day some steam showed on the 3 in the fixed odds- at one point it was 8.00 (7-1) in the fixed and drifted up to 9.50. I believe it was 20-1 ML and went off 19-1 in the tote (and ran well but 5th after setting fractions of :20 3/5 and :43 flat (!) (the stake later went :20 and :42!)

if you walk up to the window to make a fixed odds wager, the teller is going to be able to print you a ticket that allows you to WIN up to $5000. anything more will require approval from whoever runs the operation. if they are offering you 5-1 on a particular horse, you can bet $1000 and get the ticket printed no problem.

i was wondering if anyone knows the list of the tracks other than Monmouth that they accept fixed odds bets from and when they open up to take fixed odds action.

You have to convert to decimal odds. 118.91% overround; or 15.9% vig on that race, a little higher than usual.

No other tracks yet as far as I know. I believe betting usually opens 24 hours in advance for the Monmouth races

Not that I am aware of.

BTW- the market is open for Haskell Day. Jack Christopher is currently 2.05 and Taiba is 3.2. Cyberknife is 10.00 I may go get a piece of that later (link below not sure all can access)

Looks like you have to be in NJ to bet with them.
