Sorry NCG I didn’t mean to take over or intrude into your thread.
And to those who responded in one way or another to my “consistent money” question, thank you.

Hello Beagle and welcome to the board...you can post anytime you like
Sorry for not answering--been on a Super Bowl "binge" that started early, this year. Grew up in Oakland and been a Raider fan my entire life. But now that they've left AGAIN, f*** 'em. I'm a Niner fan.
I lack the fortitude, nerve, cajones, whatever it takes to gamble professionally...I don't have it. As Lefty stated in a previous post- picking winners is just the start. That's actually the easy part--the handicapping. Managing your money, and staying the course during the inevitable losing streaks is what separates the long term winners from the majority.
I had the idea of ONLY concentrating on a single distance (in my case I chose 1 mile dirt races). I kept records and printed out the 1 mile winners at various tracks using my Platinum program-- until I had a large stack.
I'm still at it--printing out winners and noting any similarities. What wins at one track isn't necessarily true at another, adding to the degree of difficulty. I chose the 1 mile distance because sometimes speed seems to be underbet--as opposed to sprints.
It's still a work in progress...I'll let you know my "secret" if I ever find one (and after I'm comfortably wealthy)
Good luck
-NCG

As Lefty and Greg put it, the hard part is after you handicap. Very well said, both of you.

Thanks ED.
Taking a look at Turf Paradise today-not much to get excited about. The 9F 3rd race is almost comical-absolutely no speed, no one wants the lead-EVER.
Trainer Kerri Raven pulled some slick stuff with BLUE DANCER yesterday-(take a look at the pp's if you have them) may be a repeat attempt with ACT UP @ 4-1 ML today.
I'll add 7-2 ML CHECK N RAISE and go with a 2-5 Quinella in that race, and call it a day.
Good Luck

GGX 2-07
I mentioned I've been studying 1 mile dirt (or AW) races--here are a couple today @ Golden Gate that fit what I've come up with, so far:
6TH RACE HARDY CHISEL 6-1
9TH RACE MOONLIGHT BLUE 5-1
My conditional minimum odds are 2-1 @ post time

Hey Coach-thanks for the good word, bro. You've been a big help with research over the years
And MJ...If you can get that odds method of yours programmed into viable software...I would definitely be interested in purchasing the retail rights.
I'm seriously looking for a handicapping program to add to my small catalog of software.
THEE TOP THREE (I gave it a glowing review a few years ago, in the software section of PA) is (as far as I know) no longer for sale to the public. As I and green_80 have tested it extensively, I know it's a decent, worthwhile tool.
I offered to buy the rights from Mike--the proprietor...but for some reason he said he's not able to sell it. It's not available anywhere, a shame really. I guess he has his reasons so I didn't bother him about it any further.
If anyone has a decent software program (AND they own it) and are interested in selling the rights for not a ton of money--shoot me an e-mail.
Keep in mind I started this venture to offer LOW-COST handicapping software, to the regular Joe Sixpack player--nothing fancy but having a real purpose to the avg horse player.
Thanks,
-NCG

2 picks and a $23.00 horse, you may be on to something there.
