pres Joe has acted .... starting Monday there will be no one from 7 southern African coming into our country (this is not racist as there are people of all colors there). The new variant has 30 mutations on the spike protein (almost like it was helped in a lab). It is too early to tell if any of the current 'vaccines' will have any help on the new variant. No American will be left behind, so they will be allowed to enter our country (as long as they can make it to Europe or Middle East and get to a plane coming this way).
This problem is ALL the result of TRUMP policies as he did not give enough doses of vaccine to Africa.

On Friday, White House pandemic adviser Anthony Fauci told CNN that no final decision has yet been made on whether to ban air travel to southern Africa, adding there is no indication that the Omicron variant is in the United States. He also said it’s not clear whether the strain is resistant to common vaccines.

I guess we should wait on travel restrictions from and to black countries until the new strain reaches our shores. After all, we wouldn't want to appear to be racists.

Yeah but... informal rules require you to switch sides/ seats after each match 
And WIN TD software will ensure you play both black and white equally in tournaments (if even # of rounds are played). Chess= equality enforced, equity not recognized

That's cultural appropriation there buddy. At the very least it could be considered a form of blackfacing. No, I think we should play this straight up and continue to play the color we identify as. After all, I don't want to come off as racist or insensitive.

In the article WHO says that it's not clear yet whether this new strain will infect those previously infected with covid -- but says nothing about whether it will infect the vaxxed.

SO the thinking is we'll see a massive spike in infection #s, followed by unprecedented steps by the administration in travel restrictions and vaccine requirements, whose success will be touted by lowering COVID numbers leading to big mid-term dem success?
yeah, I could see that playbook.
And before anyone says "It's about saving lives!"...yeah, if you don't see through that by now, there's no help for you.
